I always play Kahoot, Quizlet Live, and Socrative as games before a test but this week I did something different. I gave a test using Socrative and by the end of the period, my class knew their grade before they walked out of the class! Socrative is amazing for test review games but I use it for my tests. My students can scroll through questions at their own pace and when they hit submit they get their grade. All I have to grade is the short answer responses. My grading time is cut to 10 minutes instead of hours using Socrative for tests and quizzes!
I also had an extra 15 minutes in another class today and rather than thinking of a classroom filler we played a Quizlet live review game. These activities keep my students engaged, encourages cooperative learning, and utilizes technology in a meaningful way!
What are the game options?
Kahoot is a game-based learning platform that makes it easy to create, share and play learning games or trivia quizzes in minutes. Unleash the fun in classrooms, offices and living rooms!
Quizlet Live is an engaging game you can use in your classes to help students learn. Students work in teams to correctly match the terms and definitions from study sets. Quizlet Live is free to all teachers who have an account, and Quizlet Teacher subscribers have access to additional features and customization options.
Socrative gives immediate feedback, which is a vital part of the learning process. Socrative gives you just that for the classroom or office – an efficient way to monitor and evaluate learning that saves time for educators while delivering fun and engaging interactions for learners. Here’s a great post about how to start with Socrative.
